Noise suppression helps both creators and viewers isolate speech from ambient noise, music, and other sounds, making voice more intelligible. Noise suppression significantly reduces ambient noise, bringing more clarity to speech in videos.  Noise suppression will be available for all Stream Classic content migrated to Stream (on SharePoint) as well as new content including livestreams, Teams meeting recordings, or uploaded videos.Setting the Noise suppression default as a video owner When a video is added to Stream, the video is set to play its original audio track by default. Noise suppression is set to off.      As a video’s owner, you can change the default audio experience. In a video’s Media settings, check the box under Noise suppression. This will set the default experience for all users, but viewers will be able to override this setting during playback.The video settings menu displays available features. Noise suppression is at the bottom of the list.

Turning Noise suppression on or off as a viewer  Control Noise suppression whether you’re watching videos on Stream or as an embed. In the video player, select the Noise suppression icon to turn it on or off.    Note: A video’s owner can set a video to play back with Noise suppression on or off by default. Each video’s default setting will vary depending on owner selection.   

When noise suppression is on, a gray bar will appear beneath the Noise suppression icon.  

In an open video browser, the noise suppression icon in the lower-right corner has a gray bar beneath it indicating noise suppression is enabled. When noise suppression is turned off, no gray bar appears beneath the Noise suppression icon.In an open video browser, the noise suppression icon in the lower-right corner does not have a gray bar beneath it indicating noise suppression is not on. You can switch Noise suppression on or off at any time during playback.
