You can remove sections from your notebooks using OneNote for the web with your preferred browser on a PC, Mac, or tablet.

Make sure that you really want to get rid of them — section deletions are permanent.

Unlike the full-featured OneNote apps, where you can use Ctrl+Z (Windows) or ⌘+Z (Mac) to undo your last actions, deleting sections (and all of the pages they contain) in OneNote for the web is immediate and cannot be undone.

  1. In OneNote for the web from your preferred browser, go to the section that you want to delete.

  2. Do one the following:

    • From a PC or Mac, right-click (PC) or Control-click (Mac) the section name, and then click Delete Section.

    • From a touch-enabled device (such as an iPad or other tablet), press and hold the section name until you see a checkmark next to the section. On the bottom, tap the trash icon.
