Add  a combo chart right on your Access form.

  1. In the ribbon, select Create > Form Design.

  2. Select Insert Chart > Combo.

  3. Click on the Form Design grid in the location where you want to place the chart.

  4. In the Chart Settings pane, select Queries, and then select the query you want. In the example, select HomeSalesQry.

  5. To configure the chart, select options under the following sections. In the example set:

    • Axis (Category) to "Month (Month)".

    • Values (Y axis) to "Homes Sold (Sum)".

    • Values (Y axis) to "Average Price (Sum)".

  6. To combine the Line and Column charts into a Combo chart, set the primary and secondary series:

    • Select the Format tab and then select the arrow on the dropdown list, to see the two series.

    • The Column chart is already the primary series because under Data Series,"SumofHomes Sold" is listed first.

    • To make the Line chart secondary, select "SumofAverage Price" under Data Series.

  7. Under Format Data Series: SumofHomes Sold, set:

    • Plot Series On to "Secondary".

    • Chart Type to "Line".

    • Marker Shape to "Circle".

  8. To add clarity to the layout, in the ribbon, select Property Sheet, and then set the Axis Title to "Home Sales".

  9. To see the completed chart, right-click on the Form tab and select Form View.
