Use Exchange admin center (EAC) with your keyboard and a screen reader to run audit reports. We have tested it with Narrator in Microsoft Edge and with JAWS in Chrome, but it might work with other screen readers and web browsers as long as they follow common accessibility standards and techniques.

Check that you've been assigned the Organizational Management and Records Management admin role groups. For instructions, refer to Use a screen reader to identify your admin role in the Exchange admin center.

Exchange Online is included in Microsoft 365 business and enterprise subscription plans; however, capabilities might differ by plan. If your EAC doesn't include a function described in this article, your plan might not include it. Types of audit reports available
In EAC, you can run the following types of audit reports to get more information about mailboxes and their usage.

Non-owner mailbox access report: Use this report to find mailboxes that have been accessed by someone other than the person who owns the mailbox.

Administrator role group report: Use this report to search for changes made to administrator role groups.

In-place eDiscovery and hold report: Use this report to find mailboxes that have been put on, or removed from, In-Place eDiscovery or In-place Hold.

Per-mailbox litigation hold report: Use this report to find mailboxes that were put on, or removed from, litigation hold.

Admin audit log report: Use this report to view entries from the administrator audit log.

External admin audit log report: Use this report to review actions performed by Microsoft datacenter administrators or delegated admins.
Run an audit report

On the EAC dashboard, press the Tab key until you hear: “Left navigation hamburger, expanded.” If you hear "Collapsed" instead of "Expanded," press Spacebar to expand the menu before continuing.

Press the Tab key once. You hear the item currently selected in the left navigation pane. Press the Up or Down arrow key until you hear "Classic Exchange admin center," and press Enter. The Classic EAC opens in a new browser tab.

In the Classic EAC tab, press the Tab key or Shift+Tab until you hear "Compliance management," and press Enter.

Press Ctrl+F6 until you hear "Secondary navigation," then press the Tab key until you hear "Auditing," and press Enter.

Press the Tab key until you hear the name of the audit report you want to run, and press Enter. The report criteria are opened in a new dialog box.

By default, Exchange Online runs an auditing report covering the past two weeks. To set the time interval manually, press the Tab key or Shift+Tab to move between year, month, and day fields for the start and end dates. When you hear the name of the field you want, press Spacebar to activate it, then use the Up and Down arrow keys to change the value of the field, and press Spacebar again to confirm the selection.

Depending on the type of audit report, you can set other criteria, such as focusing the report on a particular mailbox or mailboxes. Move between the form fields with the Tab key or Shift+Tab, and select them with Spacebar.

To run the audit report with the options you've selected, press the Tab key until you hear "Search," and press Enter.

The results of the audit are listed at the bottom of the popup window. You can browse them with the Tab key or Shift+Tab.
