Use a screen reader to open the Exchange admin center

This article is for people who use a screen reader program such as Windows Narrator, JAWS, or NVDA with Microsoft 365 products. This article is part of the Microsoft 365 screen reader support content set where you can find more accessibility information on our apps. For general help, visit Microsoft Support.

Use your keyboard and a screen reader to open the Exchange admin center (EAC). The EAC is a web-based app that lets you manage Exchange in your organization in a web browser. We have tested it with Narrator in Microsoft Edge and with JAWS in Chrome, but it might work with other screen readers and web browsers as long as they follow common accessibility standards and techniques.

  1. Sign in to your organization's Microsoft 365 account.

  2. Do one of the following:

    1. To use the App launcher to open the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, press the Tab key until you hear "Banner, App launcher," and press Enter. The App launcher opens. Press the Tab key until you hear "Link, Admin," and press Enter.

    2. To search for the Microsoft 365 Admin Center on your Microsoft 365 home page, press the Tab key until you hear "Search box," type admin, press the Down arrow key until you hear "Suggested app, Admin," and then press Enter.

  3. The Microsoft 365 Admin Center opens. You hear: "Microsoft 365 admin center." Press the Tab key until you hear "Navigation menu," press the Down arrow key until you hear "Exchange, menu item," and then press Enter.

  4. The EAC opens in a new tab in your web browser. You hear: "Exchange admin center." You're now ready to explore the app and proceed to your admin tasks.
