You can recover a page or section up to 60 days after deletion. If you deleted a section group, you can recover the sections, just not the group. To recover a whole notebook, see Restore notes from a backup.
-
Select the History tab and select Notebook Recycle Bin.
-
Right-click the page or section and choose Move or Copy.
-
In the Move or Copy dialog box, choose where to put the recovered content and select Move.
-
To close the recycle bin, select Notebook Recycle Bin again.
Tips:
-
If you just deleted text, images, a page or section, press Ctrl+Z to undo.
-
To restore content you deleted from a page, not the page itself, see Review and restore the history of a page.
-
If you deleted a section group, recreate the group and then move the restored sections to it directly.
-
In OneNote for the web, you can recover a page; deleting a section is permanent and can't be undone.
-
On the View tab, select Deleted Notes.
-
Right-click the page and select Restore.
-
In the Restore Page dialog, choose where to put the recovered content and select OK.
-
Select Deleted Notes again to return to your notes.
Tip: To restore content you deleted from a page, not the page itself, see Review and restore the history of a page.
