If you're having trouble with Assignments in Teams and your IT Admin isn't available to help, you can file a support request at https://aka.ms/edusupport. Including diagnostic data with your request can help the support team troubleshoot your issue faster.
Here's how to access the diagnostic data from any Assignments screen in Teams:
-
On desktop and web:
-
Select Ctrl + /
-
-
On mobile devices:
-
Touch the screen with two fingers and rotate fingers 45 degrees, or
-
Tap on the screen with three fingers for 15 seconds
-
Once the diagnostic tool pops up, there will be a list of data that you can send to Microsoft technical support. The data pulled up may include:
-
Group ID
-
Tenant ID
-
Session ID
-
Assignment ID
-
Submission ID
-
User ID
This data is not automatically sent to Microsoft. You need to copy, paste, and send the data to a Microsoft support agent regarding a support ticket.
If you pull up the diagnostic tool and then close it, no data is sent.
When the data is sent to a Microsoft support agent, it's handled as Support Data under your organization's Microsoft 365 service agreements.
For the IT admin reference for this tool, please refer to the Assignments in Teams for Education documentation.
