How can I make sure I’m using the same Microsoft account to sign into my Phone Link and Link to Windows apps?

To successfully link your PC and your Android device, you should sign in to the same Microsoft account on both. You can check this by following these steps: On your PC:

  1. Open your browser and go to https://www.accounts.microsoft.com/devices/android-ios. Sign in with your Microsoft account.

  2. Check if your Android device is listed under your account information.

On your Android device:

  • If you have the Link to Windows app:

    • Go to Settings > Accounts.

  • On select Samsung devices:

    • Go to Settings > Advanced features >Link to Windows .

  2. Select “+Add a language.

  3. Choose a language to install, select Next, and follow the instructions to install it.

    • You only need to select the options for Install a language pack & Text-to-speech and can leave Set as my Windows display language unchecked if you only want to change the language settings of your apps.

  4. Select your newly downloaded language and select the up arrow  to make sure apps appear in the language you just downloaded.

  5. Close the Phone Link app on your PC. Open the Microsoft Store, check for updates, and download the latest version of Phone Link.

Your Android language settings are set independently in the device's system settings.

Using the Phone Link on multiple PCs and devices

Can I use more than one Android device with the Phone Link?

Yes, it is possible to link more than one Android device to the Phone Link . Make sure you're using the same Microsoft account to sign into the Phone Link and Link to Windows app across all your devices.

To add additional devices, do the following:

  1. On your new Android device, sign into the Link to Windows app with the same Microsoft account that you're using with the Phone Link on your PC. This will create the link between your Android device and your computer.

  2. Once you’ve completed the setup process on your new Android device, close and restart the Phone Link.

  3. In the Phone Link, go to Settings, and then select your new device from the device drop-down list.

Can I use the Phone Link with multiple PCs?

Yes, you can connect your device to multiple PCs at the same time.

On your second PC:

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, search for Phone Link, and then select the Phone Link from the search results.

  2. You’ll be asked to sign into your Microsoft account. You'll need to sign in with the same Microsoft account in the Phone Link on your PC and the Link to Windows app on your Android device.

  3. When you’ve completed the Phone Link setup process, you’ll receive a notification on your Android device prompting you to authorize the connection.

Microsoft Surface Duo devices currently do not support connecting to multiple PCs.

If I'm sharing my PC with other people, how do I protect my Phone Link data (pictures, text messages, and so on)?

Microsoft strongly recommends using separate Microsoft accounts for each PC user to protect each person's data appropriately. Using separate accounts on your computer protects both your Phone Link data as well as all other data on the shared PC.

For details on creating additional accounts, see Add accounts on your PC.

Can I use the Phone Link as a non-default user or two phone mode user (available in Korea only)?

You may encounter two phone mode if your mobile provider is in Korea. The Phone Link  does not currently support two phone mode or multiple profiles mode. Please contact your mobile provider to disable two phone mode, so you can use the Phone Link.

If you have multiple profiles on your mobile device, the Phone Link will only work if your device is set to the default profile.

Can I use the Phone Link  when using Multi-Screen Collaboration or Wireless Projection applications at the same time on select HONOR device?

Having both the Phone Link  and Multi-Screen Collaboration or Wireless Projection open may cause issues with both apps. To ensure the best experience, only have one of these apps open at any one time.
