Captions make videos and streams more accessible, irrespective of where you are, and what you’re doing. Captions used for your video or live stream ensure that your message is reaching to a fuller, more empowered audience.
Most of the online videos are controlled by broadcasters or video streaming services such as Microsoft Stream, YouTube, Vimeo, Flipgrid, and so on. If your video is from one of these platforms, you might be able to add, edit, or remove video captions for videos that you own.
Add captions to an online video
-
Navigate to your respective video streaming platform such as Microsoft Stream, YouTube, Vimeo, or Flipgrid.
-
To get all the benefits of the website, sign in with your email address and password.
-
Search for the video you want to add captions to.
Note: Make sure you are the owner of the selected video. If you are the owner of the video, the website will then allow you to add captions.
-
Autogenerate or upload captions for each language that you want to add captions to. For more information, check the respective video streaming platform's help topics.
-
If your captions were autogenerated, review the generated captions for their accuracy and correctness and make any corrections as needed.
