The Title field inserts the contents of the Title box from the Summary tab in the Properties dialog box. To view the Properties dialog box, click the File tab, click Info, click Properties (below the document preview on the right side), and then click Advanced Properties.

Syntax

When you view the Title field in your document, the syntax looks like this:

{ TITLE ["NewTitle"] }

Note:  A field code tells the field what to show. Field results are what’s shown in the document after having evaluated the field code. To toggle between viewing the field code and the field code results, press Alt+F9.

Instructions

"NewTitle"

Optional text that replaces the current title in the Properties dialog box for the active document or template. The new title can be no longer than 255 characters and must be enclosed in quotation marks.

Example

To print information such as "October 2003 Sales Report, printed by A. Gabor on 11/8/2003 4:20 PM" on each page of a document, insert the following text and fields in a header or footer:

{ TITLE }, printed by { AUTHOR } on { PRINTDATE \@ "M/d/yyyy h:mm am/pm" }
