How do I disable automatic updates for Sticky Notes?

By default, the Sticky Notes app is automatically updated as new features are added and app issues become resolved.

You can disable automatic Sticky Notes updating in your organization by using enterprise app management services.

To disable automatic updates, set the PackageFamilyName parameter and the DoNotUpdate operation:

  • PackageFamilyName: Set this parameter to:

    Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe

  • DoNotUpdate: Include this operation in the update code.

For example, the following code snippet includes the correct parameter and operation to prevent Sticky Notes from updating automatically on users' PCs:

<LocURI>./Device/Vendor/MSFT/EnterpriseModernAppManagement/AppManagement/AppStore/Microsoft.MicrosoftStickyNotes_8wekyb3d8bbwe/DoNotUpdate</LocURI>

You cannot currently have Sticky Notes stay on top of other applications. But you can pin Sticky Notes to the Windows taskbar to see your list of notes instantly or to create a new note quickly. Right-click the Sticky Notes icon in the taskbar, and then click Pin to taskbar.

I can't change the font text or size

You cannot currently change the font or size of note text directly from within the Sticky Notes app. But you change the text size for apps in general using Windows settings.
