ISSUE
If a new device purchased in Japan after December 2021 comes with an Office 2021 key card, you may get the following error when you enter your product key to activate your Microsoft Office product:

Error code: PIN-INAPP-INVALIDPIN-8
STATUS: FIXED
The issue has been fixed.
If you entered your key and it failed, your key may have been affected by this issue. Please enter the same key again to complete activation.
If you still experience this error, please contact Microsoft Support for further assistance. Please have your purchase certificate and key card ready.
