When you insert a picture into your notes, you might decide that it shows more than you want or need. Microsoft OneNote lets you trim a picture on your iPad or iPhone before inserting it in your notes.

iPad

  1. Follow the steps outlined in Insert a picture in Microsoft OneNote.

  2. Before tapping the Done to insert a picture you selected, tap the Crop icon in the upper right corner.

  3. Drag any of the four handles that appear on the selected picture to select the parts of the picture that you want to keep. (The parts of the picture that appear on the outside of this selection will be cropped away.)

    • To crop the picture so that the sides and top remain square, drag the side handles.

    • To crop the picture so that image is skewed, drag the corner handles.

  4. Tap Done in the lower right corner to finish cropping the picture.

  5. Tap Done once more to insert the cropped picture in your notes. If you changed your mind and don’t want to insert the cropped picture, tap the Back arrow in the lower left corner.

To delete a picture, press and hold the picture until you see the toolbar. Tap Cut or Delete.
