Improve screen readability

You find these features under Settings > Accessibility.

Increase contrast

Increase Contrast increases color contrast and makes some text styling adjustments that may improve readability for you.

Use inverted colors and color filters

The Display & Text Size menu includes several options that may improve readability.

  • Invert Colors has two options. Smart Invert reverses the colors of all screen elements except images, media, and some apps that use dark color styles. Classic Invert reverses all colors on the screen.

Zoom in and out

Zoom magnifies the contents of the screen. When you have enabled zoom, you can quickly enlarge all the content on the screen.

Note: To zoom in or out requires magnification to be switched on in the phone settings. To switch it on, go to Settings > Accessibility > Visibility enhancements > Magnification on your phone.

  1. To zoom in, tap the screen three times.

  2. To adjust the zoom level, place two fingers on the screen and then pinch or spread.

  3. To zoom back out, tap the screen three times.

Tip: To quickly zoom in to a piece of content, tap the screen three times and with the third tap, hold your finger down on the screen. To move around the screen, drag your finger. To zoom out, lift your finger.

Enlarge the text size

You can increase the font size in your phone settings to make texts appear larger in the Microsoft 365 app. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Font size and style > Font size.

Improve screen readability

Switch to a dark background

With the color inversion feature, you can change the Microsoft 365 app background color from light to dark. This also inverts the text color, so black text on a white screen becomes white text on a black screen. To switch this feature on or off, go to Settings > Accessibility > Visibility enhancements > Color inversion.

Use high contrast

High contrast turns any text to either black or white, depending on the original color, to make the text easier to read. You can switch this feature on or off in Settings > Accessibility > Visibility enhancements.

Use color correction

The color correction mode can help if you have difficulties in seeing some colors, such as red and green. The available options may vary depending on your phone. To check the available options, go to Settings > Accessibility > Color correction.
