Location and driving safety features will be removed from Microsoft Family Safety on November 29, 2024. Read on to see what this means for you. 

We frequently review how our subscribers use their Microsoft 365 benefits. We found that in the Family Safety app, subscribers are using the digital safety features much more than the physical safety features. Therefore, we have decided to remove the physical safety features and focus our efforts on digital safety because that is where our subscribers rely on us most for support. 

November 29, 2024. 

No. The location and driving safety features in Microsoft Family Safety will automatically stop working on November 29, 2024. 

After these features go away on November 29, 2024, Microsoft will no longer have access to your location and driving data. 

If you wish to cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription, visit this page for instructions.  

If you purchased a Microsoft 365 subscription with recurring billing from a third-party retailer instead of the Microsoft Store, contact the third-party retailer directly to cancel your subscription. 

  1. Go to your Services & subscriptions page.

  2. If prompted, choose Sign in and enter the Microsoft account email and password associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription.

  3. Click on the Manage button, if your subscription was purchased through Microsoft, you will see options to manage your subscription, otherwise you will be taken to the website of the third-party retailer where you purchased your subscription.
